Manulens ("the App") turns paper manuals into searchable digital copies. The App is designed privacy-first: all processing happens on your device, and the developer collects nothing.
The App collects no personal data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind.
Photos you capture and their recognized text are stored locally in the App's private container on your device. Captured photos are never written to your system photo library.
If you enable iCloud sync (on by default), your manuals sync via your private iCloud database (Apple CloudKit) to your own devices. The developer has no access to this data. You may switch to text-only sync or keep everything local in Settings.
The App requests camera access solely to photograph manuals. Photos are processed on-device and never leave your device except through your own iCloud account as described above.
Text recognition (OCR) and the optional "Ask this Manual" feature run entirely on-device using Apple frameworks (Vision, Foundation Models on Apple Intelligence devices). No content is sent to any server for processing.
The App integrates no third-party SDKs and shares data with no third parties.
The App does not collect data from anyone, including children.
Any changes to this policy will be posted at the same URL with an updated effective date.
