1. Overview

This Privacy Policy describes how HexCat ("the App," "we," "our") handles information when you use our application. HexCat is a free-to-play hex-grid puzzle game with optional in-app purchases, an optional rewarded ad in Chaos Mode, and Apple services such as Game Center and StoreKit.

We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy applies to all users of the HexCat iOS application.

2. Data Collection

HexCat does not collect, share, or track any personal data.

Specifically:

No personal information is collected by us — We do not collect your name, email address, location, device identifiers, or any other personally identifiable information.
No usage data is collected by us — We do not collect analytics, diagnostics, crash reports, or usage statistics ourselves.
No data is sold or shared by us — We do not sell, share, or transfer any user data to third parties for advertising, analytics, or any other purpose.
No tracking by us — HexCat does not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies.

3. Advertising

HexCat is free to play. Classic Mode contains no ads. Chaos Mode offers a single, optional rewarded video ad: watch a full rewarded video to earn one bonus Fish Can. Advertising is provided by:

Google Mobile Ads may use your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) and approximate location to serve personalized advertisements only after you provide consent through Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time in the app's settings or through your iOS privacy settings.

If you choose not to consent, you may still see non-personalized ads when you voluntarily choose to watch a rewarded ad. HexCat does not show banner or interstitial ads.

4. Third-Party Services

In addition to advertising, HexCat uses the following third-party and Apple-provided services:

5. Local Storage

The following data is stored locally on your iOS device:

Game progress and settings — including Classic/Chaos level progress and best stars, Rudy unlock state, Fish Can inventory, sound/haptic preferences, and guide seen state.
App preferences — language and consent choices.

All locally stored data remains on your device and under your control. Uninstalling the App will remove app-specific local storage data.

6. In-App Purchases

HexCat offers optional in-app purchases: a one-time Rudy unlock (non-consumable) and consumable Fish Can packs.

All payments are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect, process, or store any payment information, including credit card numbers, billing addresses, or Apple ID credentials.
Payment and purchase management are subject to Apple's Privacy Policy and your App Store account terms. You can restore the non-consumable Rudy purchase via the in-app Store.

7. Children's Privacy

HexCat is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children. Because we do not collect personal data directly, we are compliant with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar regulations.

If you believe a child has somehow provided personal information through the App, please contact us and we will take appropriate action.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App's functionality or applicable laws. When we make changes:

The Effective Date at the top of this policy will be updated.
Significant changes will be communicated through the App or its App Store listing.
Continued use of HexCat after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
