1. Overview

This Privacy Policy describes how Glint - App Icon Maker ("Glint," "the App," "we," "our") handles information when you use our application. Glint is an AI-powered app icon generator designed for app developers and designers. It uses large language models (LLMs) to create SVG icons and export them as multi-size PNGs ready for app submission across various platforms.

We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy applies to all users of the Glint macOS application.

2. Data Collection

Glint does not collect, share, or track any personal data.

Specifically:

No personal information is collected — We do not collect your name, email address, location, device identifiers, or any other personally identifiable information.
No usage data is collected — We do not collect analytics, diagnostics, crash reports, or usage statistics.
No data is shared with third parties — We do not sell, share, or transfer any user data to third parties for advertising, analytics, or any other purpose.
No tracking — Glint does not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies. Our privacy manifest explicitly declares no tracking and no collected data types.

3. API Keys / Credentials

To use Glint's AI icon generation features, you must provide your own API keys for one or more supported LLM providers (Anthropic, OpenAI, or Google Gemini).

Your API keys are stored locally on your device and are never transmitted to us or any party other than the respective LLM provider you have configured.
API keys are sent directly from your device to the LLM provider when you initiate an icon generation request. Glint acts solely as a client; there is no intermediary server operated by us.
You are responsible for the security and management of your own API keys. We recommend following each provider's best practices for key rotation and access control.
We never have access to, store, or log your API keys on any server or cloud infrastructure under our control.

4. Third-Party Services

When you use Glint to generate icons, your prompts and related generation parameters are sent directly from your device to the LLM provider(s) you have configured. The handling of that data is governed by each provider's own privacy policy:

Important: When you send a generation request, the prompt content (including any descriptive text, style tokens, and platform constraints you have configured) is transmitted to your selected LLM provider. We encourage you to review each provider's privacy policy to understand how they handle API request data, including data retention and usage policies.

Glint does not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.

5. Cloud Storage

iCloud Key-Value Storage (iCloud KVS): Glint uses Apple's iCloud Key-Value Storage solely to sync your expert prompt trial state across your devices. This is a small piece of non-personal app state data and does not contain any personal information, API keys, or generated content.
No other cloud storage is used. Your generated icons, prompts, API keys, preferences, and all other app data are not synced to any cloud service operated by us.

iCloud KVS is managed by Apple and is subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.

6. Local Storage

The following data is stored locally on your macOS device:

API keys and provider configurations — Stored in the app's local storage (UserDefaults / secure local storage) so you don't need to re-enter them each session.
Generated icons — All SVG and PNG files you generate and export are saved to locations you choose on your local file system.
App preferences and settings — Style presets, platform targeting preferences, prompt configurations, and other user settings are stored locally via UserDefaults.
File timestamps — The App accesses file timestamp APIs for legitimate app functionality (e.g., managing exported files).

All locally stored data remains on your device and under your control. Uninstalling the App will remove app-specific local storage data.

7. In-App Purchases

Glint offers a freemium model with optional in-app purchases (e.g., the Pro version for Expert Prompt Mode).

All payments are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect, process, or store any payment information, including credit card numbers, billing addresses, or Apple ID credentials.
Payment and subscription management is subject to Apple's Privacy Policy and your App Store account terms.

8. Children's Privacy

Glint is a developer tool designed for app developers and designers. It is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction).

We do not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children. Since Glint collects no personal data whatsoever, we are compliant with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar regulations.

If you believe a child has somehow provided personal information through the App, please contact us and we will take appropriate action.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App's functionality or applicable laws. When we make changes:

The Effective Date at the top of this policy will be updated.
Significant changes will be communicated through the App or its App Store listing.
Continued use of Glint after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
