This Privacy Policy describes how FreshPantry ("the App," "we," "our") handles information when you use our application. FreshPantry helps you keep a home food inventory — stock your fridge, freezer and pantry by voice, barcode scan, or photo — and reminds you before food expires.
We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy applies to all users of the FreshPantry iOS application.
FreshPantry does not collect, share, or track any personal data on our own servers. We operate no servers at all.
Specifically:
No personal information is collected by us — We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any other personally identifiable information.
No usage analytics are collected by us — We do not collect analytics, diagnostics, crash reports, or usage statistics ourselves.
No advertising — The App contains no advertisements and no advertising SDKs.
No data is sold or shared by us — We do not sell, share, or transfer any user data to third parties.
No tracking by us — FreshPantry does not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies.
Your food inventory (names, brands, quantities, locations, categories, expiry dates, notes, photos, barcodes) is stored locally on your device. If you are signed in to iCloud, this data syncs across your devices via Apple iCloud (CloudKit private database). Data in your iCloud private database is controlled by you and governed by Apple's privacy policy; we cannot access it.
The App requests the following permissions only when you use the related feature:
Camera — Used for barcode scanning and for photographing food packaging. Photos and video frames are processed on-device and are never uploaded.
Microphone — Used for voice entry, so you can add food by speaking (e.g. "milk, two, fridge, expires Friday").
Speech Recognition — Voice input is converted to text using Apple's Speech framework. The recognized text stays in the App; we receive nothing and store nothing on any server of ours.
On-device OCR — Packaging text is read with Apple Vision, entirely on-device.
Declining any of these permissions only disables the corresponding input method; manual entry always works.
The App uses local notifications only, scheduled on your device to remind you 7 days before and on the day food expires. No push notification service is used and no notification data leaves your device.
Optional Pro upgrades (monthly and yearly subscriptions, and a lifetime one-time purchase) are processed entirely by Apple App Store (StoreKit). We do not receive or store your payment information. Purchase status is verified on-device.
The App uses only Apple platform services (iCloud/CloudKit, StoreKit, UserNotifications, Speech, Vision, AVFoundation, CoreSpotlight, App Intents). No third-party analytics, advertising, tracking, or AI SDKs are included.

You can delete any item at any time in the App. Deleting the App removes all local data. To delete iCloud-synced data, remove the App's data in iOS Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Account Storage.
The App is rated 4+ and does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children.
